Say hello to
Deanwell School
Deanwell opened in 1973 as the first open-plan school in New Zealand, and the architecture won awards for it. The school’s identity runs on the metaphor of a korowai, a woven cloak, and the whakataukī sits in the hero in te reo and English rather than being filed away on an about page.
Underneath that, the site is built around what a parent actually opens. Report an absence, the calendar and the weekly Tumuaki update sit as three tiles directly below the fold, so the most common jobs are one tap instead of a menu dive.
