Websites for businesses that sell to businesses

B2B Website Design

A B2B website is read differently to a consumer one. The person who finds you is rarely the person who signs, the decision takes weeks, and by the time anyone picks up the phone your site has already been compared against two or three others.

We have built websites for New Zealand manufacturers, industrial suppliers, professional firms and industry bodies for over 15 years. Sites that carry real specification detail, hold up to a procurement check, and connect to the systems your team already runs.

What B2B website design actually means

B2B website design is website design for businesses that sell to other businesses rather than to consumers. The buying cycle runs for weeks, several people weigh in before anyone signs, and the visitor wants specifications and proof rather than a sales pitch.

Those three things change nearly every decision on the site. Product pages carry specifications instead of adjectives. The proof a procurement team looks for sits somewhere findable rather than inside a PDF. And the enquiry form has to collect enough for your sales team to triage the lead, not just a name and a message.

It also changes what the site connects to. A consumer site usually ends at the form. A B2B site often has to push that enquiry into a CRM, sit in front of a member login, or pull pricing from a system that predates the website by a decade. If you are weighing this against a general website build or a WooCommerce store, the difference is mostly in that plumbing.

Fifteen years across

  • Manufacturers Product ranges, specifications, distributor listings
  • Industrial services Capability pages, accreditations, site enquiries
  • Professional services Credentials, team profiles, qualified enquiries
  • Industry bodies Member logins, resources, event listings

What a B2B site has to do that a consumer site does not

Most website advice is written for businesses selling to the public. Almost none of it survives contact with a purchase that takes two months and involves four people.

These are the five differences that actually change what gets built.

See what that costs
1

The visitor is not the buyer

Someone researching on behalf of a committee needs material they can forward, not a page that only makes sense to them. Specifications, pricing context and a case they can paste into an email all have to stand on their own.
2

The decision outlasts the visit

A consumer decides in one session. A B2B buyer comes back three or four times over six weeks, often from a different device, and expects to pick up where they left off rather than start again.
3

Detail sells instead of scaring people off

Consumer sites strip detail to reduce friction. Do that here and you lose the specifier who needed the tolerance, the standard or the part number. The job is organising detail, not hiding it.
4

The form is a handover, not a finish line

A consumer enquiry ends at a confirmation message. A B2B enquiry starts a sales process, so it has to arrive with enough context for someone to pick it up and act, and land in the system your team already works in.
5

Credibility is checked, not felt

Nobody audits a consumer brand before buying a pair of shoes. Procurement will absolutely check your insurances, accreditations and whether the company has been around. That belongs on the site, findable.

Why B2B businesses pick Brontë

Six things we get asked about on every B2B project. Three are about getting onto the shortlist, and three are about the work that sits behind the site once you are on it.

Winning the shortlist

Built for a buying committee, not one buyer

A B2B purchase is almost never one person deciding. The person who finds you is rarely the person who signs, and by the time you hear from them the shortlist is already down to three.

So the site has to answer more than one brief at once. The technical detail a specifier needs, the commercial detail a manager needs, and the reassurance a finance director needs, each reachable without wading through the others.

Proof that survives a procurement check

Long sales cycles mean your site gets read properly, and often by someone whose job is to find a reason to strike you off.

Accreditations, insurances, standards, real project detail and a named team all belong somewhere findable. We structure that into the site rather than burying it in a PDF nobody opens.

Enquiries your team can actually qualify

A form that only collects a name and a message hands your sales team a guessing game.

We set enquiry forms up to capture what you need to triage properly, route them to the right person, and record where the enquiry came from. Fewer enquiries that waste an hour, more that are worth a call back.

The work behind it

Connected to the systems you already run

Most B2B sites are not brochures. They feed a CRM, push quote requests into a workflow, sit in front of a member login, or pull stock and pricing from something older than the website.

We build those connections properly, so your team is not rekeying the same enquiry into HubSpot or Xero by hand. Where an integration is not worth the cost, we will say so.

A catalogue people can navigate

A wide product range is a structure problem long before it is a design problem.

Specifications, part numbers, downloadable data sheets and distributor listings all need somewhere sensible to live, and a filter that narrows things down the way your buyers actually think. We plan that first, then design around it.

Hosting, security and a person to call

We host on AWS in Auckland or Sydney, with free SSL, nightly backups and uptime monitoring included.

Core, plugins and themes get updated on a schedule rather than when something breaks. If something does go wrong there is a person on the end of the phone instead of a ticket queue.

Fifteen years of this, most of it B2B

We are a WordPress agency in Hamilton, and a lot of our work has always been for businesses whose customers are other businesses.

That means we have seen the same problems enough times to recognise them early. A range that has outgrown its navigation, a form that hands sales nothing useful, a site that reads well to the founder and means nothing to a specifier. You can see who we work with on our work page.

Is this the right fit for your business?

We would rather tell you in the first phone call than three weeks into a quote.

Worth a conversation

  • Your customers are other businesses, not the public The decision takes weeks and involves more than one person, so the site has to do the convincing while you are not in the room.
  • You have a product range, a spec library or a distributor network This is the work we do most. Getting someone from a vague need to the right part is a structure problem before it is a design one.
  • Your enquiries arrive unqualified If every lead needs a phone call to work out whether it is worth anything, the form is doing a quarter of its job.
  • The site needs to talk to something else A CRM, a quoting tool, a member login or a stock system. Tell us early, because it changes the scope rather than just the timeline.

We will point you elsewhere

  • You need five pages live next week for under $2,000 Squarespace will serve you better than we will, and we would rather say that now.
  • You want it built on Shopify, Squarespace or Wix We only build WordPress. Not snobbery, just that we are only good at one thing.
  • You are after branding and a logo We design the site around your brand. We do not create the brand itself.
  • You need a mobile app or a custom platform Different discipline. We will point you at someone who does it properly.

What a B2B website costs

Three bands, set by how much the site has to do. Every project is quoted on scope, so treat these as starting points rather than packages.

Investment What you get Typical timeframe More detail
Straightforward site from $3,000 + GST
  • Your services, your team and enquiry forms
  • Up to around 8 pages
  • Built to the same standards as our largest projects
4 to 8 weeks See examples
Full design process from $8,000 + GST
  • A design built around your brand and your range
  • Product, service or capability structure planned properly
  • Enquiry forms that qualify, wired into your CRM
8 to 12 weeks See examples
Complex build from $15,000 + GST
  • Member logins, dealer or customer portals
  • Quoting, stock, ERP or accounting integrations
  • Multi-market or multi-language sites
12 weeks and up See examples

Most people land between two bands.

Send us what you sell, who buys it, and whether the site has to talk to anything you already run. We will come back with a number rather than a range.

Our approach to B2B website design

Every site we build gets the same technical floor, whatever it cost. Core Web Vitals in the green, images compressed and sized properly, no page builder bloat, and a structure that search engines and AI answer engines can actually read.

The part specific to B2B is what we refuse to cut. The proof, the specifications and the detail that makes someone confident enough to call. It is tempting to strip those to keep a page tidy, and it is the fastest way to lose a buyer who was nearly there. If your current site is already close, a website health check is usually the cheaper starting point.
